Tonight, Daddy spent the evening watching the news in the living room while you and I occupied the kitchen! You were busy coloring and watching cartoons while I showered but I promised you some time writing in your journal when you finished if you allowed me quiet time to shower. Not a peep! And you didn't even interrupt daddy's newscast either. As I walked back into the kitchen to join your activities, you asked for some blueberries. You opened the freezer to grab a cup of frozen blueberries. I mentioned that they were no longer lining the top shelf since we were almost out of them. You didn't skip a beat as you said, "Then add them to your list!"
You are around me enough to hear about my list of lists----a list of what to buy, a list of our errands for the day, etc. Thus, if you ever catch yourself making lists for everything know that this trait comes from your Mommy----I'm notorious for making them! And yes....I will add frozen blueberries to our grocery list. Although this week, we have fresh raspberries, blueberries, kiwi, and bananas to devour from our trip to Sam's together this weekend.
With Daddy's line of work, he often makes "Punch Lists" for projects he is finishing as he's almost done with a job site. I love that phrase too. I'm not sure if it is specific to his line of work but I love that he can PUNCH items off his list---not literally as you'd think he was if I was to share this term with you (You are our literal girl!). But the vision of getting to drive away the "to do's with a punch" sounds satisfying! We'll have to add to our own punch list of prayers---pray for Daddy---with your little prayer, "Bless Daddy and everywhere he works!" He came in weary today saying, "There's no rest for the weary!" Thus, we'll have to encircle him with laughter and joy and prayers of thanksgiving so that he can find the rest he needs/wants.
Your list for tomorrow is sure to have on it: Play outside, see your kitty cat, go to the park.......and more! Thus, I must put aside my list for the night and read an article or two.....getting a good night's rest should always make our lists!
I enjoyed working in your journal with you tonight as we tackled sight words! You are learning to recognize these little words as you learn to read them in our story books. Together, we will continue this list of words as you master each one! Daddy was proud of your word work tonight too-----he listened to you call them off one by one right before your bedtime! Creating sentences with these words was perfect too.
I love your eagerness to learn. And I love the little list of words you wrote that I found on my desk a few nights ago when I left you in there working on a word program online------you had cut out an oval from a piece of white computer paper and wrote on it ran, fan, cat, hat---and more! Your list of words always includes: Sophia, mom, dad, cat.
No matter how many times I see these little letters that form words, I always smile. Pure delight in watching you piece together words that you love and hold dear to you. Your list of words-----may it grow to magnificent heights.
I love you! You fill our lives with joy!
