Worn Out

After twelve hours of work +, Daddy finally arrived home in time for you to brush your teeth....potty...play two rounds of hide and seek....hugs and kisses.....before Mommy read you your bedtime stories...but I caught the two of you laughing in the bathroom tonight! When I looked at Daddy, he told me that he didn't tell you to say it but that you asked him, "Daddy, does Mommy wear you out sometimes?" He laughed and said, "Yes!" Then you interjected that I wore you out today and made you really sleepy! Daddy just laughed!

You silly girl! Who wears who out!?!

After preschool today, we lounged around the house and opted for fun in sun after your nap---swimming late this afternoon. You didn't want to leave. You kept swimming like a little fishy and jumping in my arms with delight. "Mommy, you know what we haven't done in a loooong time!?!" you sang. When I asked, what...you answered that we haven't made gingerbread cookies that we decorate. One sugar cookie arrived home with you after preschool today and you were thinking cookies all day. As I buckled you in the truck to get home for supper after swimming, you were giggling with delight that we were going home to make cookies. However, I noted that we'd have to check the recipe out first, buy ingredients, and then make cookies. And you did not forget.....as we were finishing our journals this evening, "Mommy, you know what we forgot?" Thus, the two of us marched to the playroom and sat at the desk together to print out a cookie recipe. As you visited with Daddy upon his arrival home, Mommy highlighted ingredients I need to pick up tomorrow. Then, we can make cookies to devour together!

I think really it is you that wears me out! But like Olivia's Mommy always says, "But, I love you anyway!"
