February arrived this weekend. As I looked back into my files of files in my mind, the work around us at home, our lives, you.....I caught myself wondering what have we been doing....where did time go...have we been busy living or anticipating......or maybe a little of both!?!
There are so many little moments that evolve into the BIGGEST moments of my day, my week, my month----and most revolve around you! I must say that today you filled the Mommy tank full on this icy day at home...
The Biggest little moments...
Early this morning, you requested tea cups, saucers, and snacks to set up a tea party for your dolls. Throughout the month of January, you've enjoyed several tea parties in the living room after having one very special one with Baby Litsa, your Itty Bitty American Doll Baby, your other two American doll girls: Caroline & Marie Grace, and Mrs. Polly's doll, Molly!
You enjoy setting our coffee table with linens and more to enjoy special tea parties a few times throughout the day. Sometimes Daddy joins you after work and/or dinner! Tonight, you ran into the kitchen and said, "Mommy, I need the whole roll of paper towels!" Daddy helped you get everything cleaned up tonight. These snapshots are from last week but the same little pitcher and tea cups aligned our table throughout the day!
Daddy helping clean up tonight's water mess reminded me of you today pitter pattering down the hallway! I was sitting in the master bedroom working during mommy/coffee time. You had slept in this morning so your nap time was just filled with free choice...you were quiet except for the pitter pattering that I kept hearing! "Sophia what are you doing!?" I'd ask each time I kept hearing the pitter patter back and forth down the hallway. You never answered. I was immersed in blog content and coffee until I reached the end of my pile of work. It was then that you eagerly came to me to show me what you had been up to...your bedroom was spotless....a made bed with pulled back linens, books picked up off the floor and chair that we had read and reread---they were "pitter pattered" back to the playroom bookshelves and neatly filed! That's what I was hearing....You were so excited about your hard work cleaning---and I, too, was elated!
Tonight when I asked you what your favorite part of your day was, you stated, "That I'm the best cleaner in the world!" You were very proud of yourself------and the fact that Mommy was super proud of you too made it a special moment in your day!
That's amazing that cleaning and being praised is more important than our Valentine inspired artwork---especially all the glitter you enjoyed sprinkling everywhere today! As February drew near, you kept asking me when we were going to put up our Valentine decor. I was always 'tickled' by your question saying that we really didn't have any specific Valentine decor to display but I told you too that we could make a few items to display. We found your glittery hearts that we've displayed in the past. Those prompted a few more painted hearts! We began with patterns on paint grade paper and then cut out hearts from your painted work! They are still laying around waiting for rope or twine----a Valentine garland will actualize itself this week!?! I loved the little hearts you made with lips. I think you called them 'lip hearts'---you wore Mommy's lipstick and kissed the paper. Then, you cut out little hearts! I loved them! I love your REAL little heart shaped lips too!
At bedtime, the energy levels were high because Daddy was home----and you get so, so excited about Daddy playing with you---being home with you! One play activity leads to the next...and the next...and we never know where it will all end. Tonight, you said, "Daddy, do you......" and we both thought you'd ask for another game of.....anything to keep from going to bed but you asked, "Daddy, do you want me to give you the BIGGEST hug and kiss you ever got!?!" Daddy grinned from ear to ear and his eyes lit up too. He was definitely eager to play that game----at least receive the biggest hug & kiss ever!!
You light up our world! Luckily, Mommy received the BIGGEST hug and kiss too! Your little heart is the BIGGEST! You love with all of your heart little one! I might say it's my favorite but I do believe I received another heart today---it had yellow hair on it, eyes, a necklace.......and it was delivered to me in an envelope (You use at least one envelope every other day---I might better buy a box or two for backup for me or you!?!). You wouldn't let me see it when I'd sneak into the playroom to see what you were doing on my desk but when you finished it you were eager to see if I liked it! I did. I did. It will make my blessings journal.
So can I pick...and I pick the BIGGEST gift of all today......I think it just might end with A but begin with S...AS in Sophia!
You're simply irresistible!
I love you little one!
