Favorite Spring Snapshots

The cool weather and all the beautiful blooming flowers this week have reminded me of how much I love spring and just how much more I love getting to spend it with you! Here are a few of my favorite spring pictures of......

Sophia E. Jackson
A Bouquet of Delight
These snapshots of you in the daffodils remind me of my own childhood days of spring with my cousins and brothers in Martin, Tennessee. Uncle Ted would drive us around town in a brown truck in the eighties.......a family dog named King running alongside the truckload of children & daffodils that we would pick! I'll have to remember to pull those pictures out to show you one year as we compare them to your spring days in the fields-----picture perfect memories!
Memories of my Childhood Through Moments with YOU
How long ago this spring break week away to Atlanta in March seems? There are never enough family moments that encompass the three of you---Sophia, Elia, Ioli-----playing together! I'll never forget this last day of our week in Georgia. You had your rain boots on so Elia put hers on too as you all continued to play in Ioli's room. Ioli watched you all and pulled out her snow boots and put them on! She pranced around like a BIG girl too---only her snow boots were on the wrong foot! But, such a precious memory as I watched the three of you play! I never had a little sister. I had hoped for one for you. As much as you love your babies (baby dolls) and your time with your cousins, Elia & Ioli, I know you'd wrap that little sister in your arms------or maybe you'd realize just how much you'd have to share!?! Right now, we'll just continue to enjoy these moments with the next best thing to a sister---two special cousins!
Ioli, Sophia, Elia: Boots, Boots, Boots
Yiayia & Papou with THREE "Koukles"
Random moments with Daddy when he sneaks away from work turn out to be family favorites! The vastness of the farm reminds me just how much there is for you to learn! The beauty of God's creations waiting for your inquisitiveness. The simple things we choose to do together like riding around the farm picking wildflowers, weeds, and Dogwood flowers are investments in you. The returns on those investments will only fully unfold in the hands of time but I'm sure they'll evoke favorite springtime moments of joy!
At the Farm with Mommy & Daddy
You always want to pick just one flower but one becomes two...three....four....and if we can't find you we only have to look for the nearest or farthest flowering shrubs or ground coverings to find you! These purple flowers kept your running around, inspecting and selecting just one to pick....or two. Just this evening, you helped water our Gardenias, Geraniums, Japanese Maple Tree, Mint, Creeping Phlox, & Hydrangeas---------and you wanted to pick Magnolia blooms from Mrs. Polly's blooming trees. Oh! I can't forget one of your favorites........you watered the CLOVER! What a joy it is to stop and see the beauty of each bloom through your eyes!
One Little Purple Flower
....Maybe a few more snapshots could be selected as my favorites too! I look forward to the rest of spring with you. Many of our moments together are not even caught on camera-------those moments are my favorites too-----like the one of us curled up in the swing this afternoon. You telling Mommy that you were cold. Mommy placed her arms around your back. Feeling the warmth of your perfect body against mine---silent echos of THANKS rendering their way to heaven for these beautiful Spring moments of unexpected JOY with you! Or you telling Daddy at Dairy Queen tonight, "I'm digging" when you were finishing up his ice-cream (You see. He tells us we can't dig in his food and that if we want something....to order our own. He knows though that we'll still want his too since we both love to eat!)---or maybe my favorite spring moment was when you asked Daddy to go see the little baby tonight------and you followed with "I want one like that!" And I can't forget the kiss you touched to my forehead to help Mommy's head feel better after you bumped it repeatedly as you settled in to sleep!

I can't count or capture my favorite spring snapshots of you because there's just too many to choose from but I can tell you that I savor each one!
