Today was the last day of preschool for my little three year old school girl----YOU! We didn't start counting down the days until this last week because I wanted you to look forward to the many different opportunities that preschool provided for you all the way to the end. So we counted down four days......I should have photographed those little four fingers showing four days as you asked, "Only four days of school?" Until the very end of the school year, you still preferred to "stay home with Mommy" as you would often tell Daddy and me.....You learned quickly that Wednesday was your day off of preschool and that weekends were carefree without school's routine. However, through all the days in between, we made it through......sometimes with tears......sometimes with laughter.......or a little pep in your step! I can't say that it was easy all the way through but watching you grow and learn made the journey that much sweeter! And you were ALWAYS happy when Mommy picked you up at 11 for lunch at "home with Mommy!" Each day was a stepping stone for Mommy too. I learned quickly in August and September that we were to come straight home from preschool........no shopping trips to Kroger or visits to the library. School's structure and routine was enough for my little three year old. After preschool, you were ready to come home for food, free play, and nap time! I know that this one little post can't capture all of my favorites about preschool but these little snapshots of you finishing preschool as a three year old grab my heart. They squeeze tight as I remember all that you've learned throughout the year! Click! I can just see your gorgeous little precious face and hear the melody of your voice as you sang to me today, "I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee, won't my Mommy be so proud of me?" And that I am..........I AM PROUD of you, my little school girl!

| Popsicle Surprise |
This morning as you finished your last day of preschool, Mommy walked to the pharmacy and had your prescription filled for you. We'll be taking medication all summer long....As I was thinking through the medication schedule, I was thinking about what summer snacks we needed to have on hand to keep you hydrated & healthy with the antibiotics fighting down the infection in your body that your doctors are trying to pinpoint. Yosicles came to mind! I added them to our Kroger shopping list but I only had a few minutes to shower and drive to the nearest grocery store for popsicles for you and your classmates to enjoy on the last day of preschool! An impromptu thought but one that I acted upon----the timing was perfect! Mommy arrived just as recess was over! You all looked as hot as Mommy felt after her walk! I know you REALLY enjoyed your surprise! You ate FOUR popsicles! You never ceased to amaze me with how much food you could eat after preschool! Even when Mommy brought you fun treats at dismissal, you still ate your lunch at home just as you did today. Broccoli and carrots dipped in blue cheese-----you didn't need encouragement to eat but you asked me to pull apart the florets so I placed them upside down in the blue cheese and you'd grab one and eat it.....then ask..."How many are left now?" I love your questions------your inquisitiveness! I also love, love your complete sentences! Oh! How you have grown!

Dr. Seuss was a genius with words! We read his books often-----you quickly pick up his knack for word play.......and you loved watching, The Cat and the Hat each morning prior to preschool from 7:30 a.m to 8:00 a.m. as you ate your breakfast on the couch! Yes. Mommy relented to dry cereal or a banana with milk in a sippy cup so you'd have time to stretch and wake up as I sipped coffee and dressed us for our busy days out the door but now our mornings will be different with no preschool schedule for the summer but like Dr. Seuss said, “I’m glad we had [THESE PRESCHOOL] times together just to laugh and sing a song, seems
like we just got started and then before you know it, the times we had
together were gone.”
But lucky for me and lucky for you, we have so much more time together to explore and discover new paths this summer! Our moments together will fill our lives with unexpected moments of joy and August will bring about another school year but until then you are all mine!
