The Memphis Zoo

Early this past June, we took advantage of the cooler June temperatures and took a trip to the Memphis Zoo with Mrs. Dee and Drue. They have asked us many times in the past two years to accompany them to the zoo but there was always something else Mommy had to do in Memphis or wanted to do. It was the perfect day, weather-wise when we arrived. Drue and you zipped this way and that as the four of us walked though the zoo seeing most of the animals (we saved a few for another day). I asked you what your favorite part of the zoo was: “My favorite part of the zoo was the colorful birds!” You enjoyed getting close to them in one particular part of the zoo and seeing others in their cages. When nap time was nearing (dragging feet & requests for Mommy to hold you), we passed the camels and visitors riding them as you requested to ride the camels too. Mommy promised we’d come back and ride them on our next visit-----and fulfill your request to feed the giraffes (the zoo had already reached its allotted feedings for the day). When we arrived home, you were eager to share with Daddy our trip to the Memphis Zoo and told him that he and you were going to go back to ride the camels and feed the giraffes.
