Tonight at the dinner table, Mommy was trying to engage you in telling Daddy about your school day. I asked you to tell us what prayer you say prior to eating your lunch and/or snacks at school. You recited, "A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z, Now I know my abc's. Next time won't you sing with me!?! Amen!" I smiled from ear to ear and told Daddy that it is amazing how God uses little children like you to teach us! I'm not sure if that's the blessing you say prior to eating your food at school but it was perfect for the dinner table. Daddy and I discussed that when one doesn't know what to pray for this is the perfect prayer so that God can unscramble all of our thoughts and worries! Amen!
As our evening continued, you took your bath and spun around and around and around in your rocking chair in your bedroom-------You love to play run and chase with Daddy at night and you love to have him spin you endlessly! When Daddy was ready for prayers, he asked you if you wanted to say them or if you wanted him to recite them for you. He began, "Now I lay..." You said, "No Daddy........" and you went down on your knees and recited, "A B C D..........X Y Z...Amen!" Daddy & I looked at one another and just grinned at your sweet little voice reciting the alphabet as your prayer! Something was said......and you said, "It's the ABC Prayer!"
I love you! I pray that you come home from preschool with more knowledge each and every day! I loved the excitement in your voice today when you told me that a starfish has 5 arms and that an octopus has 8 legs. I'm eager to discover what else you'll learn about God's magnificent ocean! Oh! I just have so many favorite moments throughout our days together........on the way home from Voice today, we went around a curve and you pointed out that the road curved like the roads in Greece when Papou was driving us to the ocean! Only in Greece you reflected that they had 'polla' turns!
