You seem to always make Mommy and Daddy laugh or smile when we need it the most! Yesterday, Daddy was laughing at your accent----it's really country! I swear that you get that dialect from him. I'll record him talking so that you'll know Mommy's right in this arena too! Mommy's friend, Ms. Dee, laughs when you talk too. She says, "It's Greek Country!" No matter what it is little one I love you to pieces-------and always will. The positive note here is that you are sure of yourself! You hold your head high and proud of who you are---and that I love, love, love! Mommy is proud of you too! The laughter that erupted yesterday is when Daddy said, "Girl, you sure are country!" And you answered back just as proud as you could be, "I sure AM!" WE all laughed!
This moment made me think back to our Sunday together out on the farm. I had wrinkled my nose at being out in the woods since it's really not my cup of tea per say------unless I have a book and picnic to enjoy under a shade tree. I was telling Daddy last Sunday that I'm not really a country girl-----at least not one that likes to play on four wheeled machines or in the dirt! He answered me with a smile saying, "She will be!" I just smiled. I loved every minute of being in the country with you (minus the bugs, minus the fright that we might turn over---etc.-----I just live a little more cautiously than Daddy does! He's not as anxious as I tend to be........but I'm always up to new adventurous and I love being with my two favorites: Daddy & you!)! No matter how you talk or if you grow up to be a country girl--------or a semi-city girl like Mommy! See Daddy hasn't seen you shop! Ms. Dee and I laugh at the times we've all been out shopping.........you pull back clothes and accessories just like Mommy does.........hmm........we'll see what kind of girl you grow up to be but right now you're our favorite little four year old girl.
Today, I had to laugh again. After school, I was asking you if you took a nap. You said, "Mommy, I did take a nap!" When I noted to you that Ms. Tracy told me you didn't nap, you said: "Mommy, I napped with my eyes open!" You silly goose.......
But let me tell you a story about those little eyes.......They are meticulous! They don't miss a beat! Tonight, I was reading you a book about blue jays. You were listening intently as you were looking at the pictures! At one point, you asked me if the pictures were stamps. I smiled. The photographs in the book were realistic illustrations that were snapshots of the blue birds' adventure but they were cut out with a scalloped edge to look like stamps. You are so observant.........Let's see, you may get that from Mommy! Or maybe, Papou who doesn't miss anything! He'd always tell Mommy growing up, "Ta matia sou dekatessera (your eyes fourteen)!" I'll explain this to you one day. But of course, Daddy might say that your observance of details comes from him----------he is quite talented with details! And of course, no matter which of us you find your niche from, you are you! We all love you--------and Mommy is thankful for these days and hours we have with you, watching you flourish with confidence.
