One of my all time favorite Halloween books is Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman. Each October my elementary students enjoyed reading and rereading this book. We enjoyed acting out each line of the book: "It's big and it's mine and it's stuck on a vine and Halloween is just hours away!" said the witch and she kicked that pumpkin! Today, I was able to schedule in time to share this book with your preschool classroom. I enjoyed the attentiveness each of you gave to me as I retold the story! The book was actually no where to be found this morning. Thus, I sparked your classmates interest with the fib that a witch came into our home and snatched our book! Luckily, this favorite story rolled off my mind & tongue captivating each of you. Thank you for sharing your classmates with me today, Little Skeleton! I somewhat doubted that you'd share me but was delighted at how well you did without me having to correct you! I'm proud of you for being a big girl and look forward to many more storytimes with you----and your classmates!
