Let's Play Doctor
You absolutely LOVE to play doctor with Daddy the minute he walks through the door from work! Every day I forget how much you love to pretend play doctor until he gets his coffee in his cup and you say, "....come on, Daddy! You......" and you have him in the floor before he can even say no. Today, however, he did get a few minutes of sit down time in the kitchen while we worked on your initial sounds and short u vowel sound in words in your workbook. Then, Daddy became your patient! He told me that you took the stethoscope and placed it on his forehead after placing it on his heart. He asked you why? You told him that you were listening to what he was thinking! He loved that-------I love that! Only you would think of something that creative to say! You never cease to amaze us. Today you had your annual flu shot scheduled. You were a superb patient. You asked Daddy to join us at the doctor's office to hold your hand. I think that only one "Oww" erupted after your shot and you were finished. I pray that this precaution keeps you healthy throughout flu season and that we only have to PRETEND to go to the doctor's office. Watching the two of you play is hilarious-------Daddy's doctor terminology is not always accurate. You love when he tells you that your ears look, "Nasty!" I must make it a point to take a few photographs of the doctor/patient episodes that unfold each evening at our house. Daddy isn't always eager to play (although 9 times out of 10 he obliges) but the smiles you leave him with I'm sure touch his heart deeper than even he knows---years from now, we won't remember that we had to finish playing doctor to get a bath and have you tucked in bed on time for a preschool night. We'll only remember that we took the time to play and watch you grow.

We love you more than words can capture------with your presence in our lives, colors cascade around us like leaves falling gracefully from autumn trees!
