My Little Skeleton

I love this snapshot of you watching Princess Girl through the front glass door. As I was prepping your lunchbox for school, you let your kitty cat in and were just standing back watching her saying, "Mommy, Princess Girl is making loud noises!" I had to quickly come scoot her back out the front door. It sounded like she was trying to cough up a fur ball. Thus, our day started with a stream of questions and requests. We already had "going by Daddy's shop" on our to do list so that you could show him what you looked like in your new skeleton shirt! Prior to leaving the house, you snuggled into your button up jacket. We rode to the shop with the windows down enjoying the cool, crisp fall air. You requested to take your jacket off and I said no without thinking that you wanted Daddy to see just your skeleton shirt. About the time we pulled into his shop parking lot, I turned around to find you quickly removing your seat belt and pulling off your jacket with the biggest smile on your face as you proudly posed for Daddy in your new shirt. This picture of you pulling off your jacket was one of the best visual snapshots of the day! You were so adorable!

"Mommy, why is Princess............"

I was delighted to see a special reward sticker added to your skeleton today when I picked you up from preschool. You were first in line and eager to tell me that you were the leader at school! And that you are.........a leader! I look forward to all of your leadership roles in life! You will conquer the world with your spirit!

After school, we had Mrs. Ashley and Keegan------and Del over for craft time. However, Keegan and you both were eager to put the paints away and run and play. We did just that......Autumn colors mixed with sunshine as the two of you played...running, playing doctor, family, & more.......eating one too many popsicles but there's just a few left over from summer until next spring. Besides my long, lean skeleton always devours everything in sight after preschool. The afternoon passed too quickly and it was time to prep dinner along with acorn squash for tomorrow's luncheon! It'll be a special one. You licked the acorn squash and helped prep it just for the two of us. It's the day before fall break begins and I think we deserve to celebrate it together-----couscous, Greek yogurt, acorn squash, tri-berry cobbler and a nap to follow it all! When, I tucked you in bed tonight you pulled me close and said, "Mommy, I'll miss you tomorrow when I'm at school." You didn't have to say anymore to convince me that we needed a lunch date not one even one day later. The truck was cleaned this week. Mommy enjoyed a pedicure this morning. Work is falling into place. There are always chores to do at home and projects to start and finish but I can't wait until noon tomorrow. In the dark, you said, "Mommy, I don't want applesauce in my lunchbox." (Yet, you consume two or more packages of it at home after school.). I told you that I wouldn't even pack a lunch and that I'd pick you up so that the two of us could eat couscous at home together. You said, "Mommy, you're so funny!" and just laughed and pulled those tears back into your eyes continuously laughing. I think you were saying to me that I'm so FUN. I might take that as a compliment from the one I love most in the world. This little one who is licking my acorn squash. Yum. Yum.
