My Heart Is Full

What a beautiful day with you...........
  • We slept in until 8:20 a.m.
  • We attended a Saturday make-up session of Voice as you and your group practiced for your upcoming show, Merry & Bright!
  • We worked on beginning and ending sounds together (You consistently asking, "Mommy, are you the teacher?")
  • We baked gingerbread babies together------we didn't eat any after they baked but you enjoyed plenty of raw cookie dough! I loved that you told Mommy not to peek------linking back to the book we read about Mattie peeking!
  • We enjoyed a simple dinner out at Peppers together as a family.
  • We took you to see Santa at the mall. You looked at him as he offered you a lollipop. You asked Daddy to go with you to get it but you didn't get any closer! I overheard you saying, "Santa Claus is watching me! He's going to come see me!"
  • We let Daddy buy brownies to celebrate National Brownie Day! You didn't even ask for a sprinkle cookie at the Popcorn Place like you normally do------you were still mesmerized at seeing Santa.
  • You used manners all day long--------and had a magnificent day!
.........and if only my Mommy brain could remember all that you said and did today! You really made me smile more than a handful of times today! But I must say that the most beautiful moment was when Daddy arrived home. He set you on the kitchen table to look at you and talk to you face to face. Mommy was sitting across from you two. You said, "Daddy, you know where I have you? In my heart........" You proceeded to tell Daddy that God and Jesus were in your heart too! Then you said, "Daddy, My Heart is FULL!" You always tell us that we are in your heart along with Princess Girl-------it was one simple way that Mommy used to convey to you that even when I'm away from you while you are at preschool, you are still in my heart and that I'm in yours. And what a moment of joy it is to know that you've embraced this comfort as your own.

Sophia eating gingerbread cookie dough raw! Yummy! Yummy!
Last bite.........and then Mommy would see......
Brought back memories of baking "koulorakia" with Yiayia

One. Two. Three. Four........
Simple gifts are these words that flow from your heart into our home and envelope our hearts. You summarized my thoughts for our glorious day together!
