We celebrated New Year's Eve today the Jackson family style----------the two of us spent a quiet day at home taking down Christmas decorations together, organizing and unpacking-------and then deep cleaning room by room! Daddy went to work------but not without dropping in for a hug from you mid day! It was perfect timing too since the last Christmas tree was tucked away and ready for the attic! He helped Mommy carry everything upstairs and then we were able to clean and make our house sparkle for our New Year's Eve bash!
It was a cold, cold wintry------and wet day so the two of us never left the house (not to mention we drove in from Georgia yesterday---a seven hour trip home)! And your cough, cough, coughing kept us in too! When Daddy asked what's for dinner, I suggested left over tenderloin seasoned with oregano and fresh lemon juice. You suggested corn and green beans as our sides. Thus, dinner was served and miraculously our kitchen was cleaned from top to bottom------well almost tomorrow's another day but we all helped tidy up 80% of it! Daddy and you cleaned the table and repositioned to give it a different look for 2013. We'll see how we like it as we serve dinner there tomorrow night-------the first day of 2013.
Still in lounge wear today after endless hours of cleaning and sprucing up our home, I was reminded of Mrs. Polly's suggestion early this fall when she noted that I should make beautiful memories with the china and crystal that I had collected....not to wait for large family/friend gatherings------tonight was perfect. The three of us were home. We were venturing closer to a new year! Thus, I grabbed your ipad and had you design a page with "Happy 2013" on your Nick Jr. Write and Draw app. I explained the evening to you and suggested the three of us toast to a Happy New Year! Your excitement was perfect for these snapshots to remember the many blessings of 2012 on the last night of the year.
Although, I called our tea (for Daddy) and cran-grape/water mix (for us) champagne, you requested more "wine" after our toasts! I guess you were really paying attention to our wine hunt at Kroger on the night before our departure from Georgia. Mommy was looking for a new wine (Bogle) that Pete served one night for dinner. I enjoyed that red wine and wanted a bottle to carry home. And even though I didn't serve any of us wine tonight when it was your turn to photograph Daddy and me, you still managed to cut our heads off but the smiles you captured little photographer are the true picture of JOY. You fill our hearts beyond capacity!
Happy New Year! May 2013 fill our lives with unexpected moments of joy! May our legacy continue to unfurl its glory with abundant health and prosperity!
