It's mid-December and there are so many memories to capture in our hearts-----or maybe just from my heart onto this blog for you to remember---before all of 2012 is "all used up!" Today on Tuesday, December 18th, you were to report to school with a special toy or something you wanted in the leader's bag! You selected your new doll that you received on Sunday during Daddy's birthday celebration! It was one of your Christmas presents that got shuffled into Daddy's birthday presents (on purpose by Mommy) so that you could enjoy Christmas a tad earlier since we'll be traveling this year!
When Mommy dropped you off in your preschool classroom this morning, I reported to the sanctuary to wait for you and your classmates to sing! The sanctuary filled up with friends and family-------and Daddy slipped in next to Mommy prior to your class filing in to be seated at the top of the stage!
I have a mini version of this song recorded on my phone but absolutely love your little voice as you sing this precious little song! I'll have to work on mini videos of you singing these songs while we're visiting Yiayia and Papou!
I love these classic songs that you sang along with other First United Methodist Preschool classmates/schoolmates! Your voices were angelic! I love Up on the Rooftop........but also loved the If you're happy and you know Christmas version.........and the elf song that you all sang! I must, must find a little video of this performance! I love still shots and am not a pro at videos but want every minute of you recorded------luckily, my memory is photographic and there's a copy of these songs and memories in my heart! Oh! How I love you........
It was a quick, silly "cheese" snapshot that Daddy captured before returning to work because I want you to know that I'm here for you always.........and after eating a few veggies and cookies, the two of us loaded up to go home.......free play, naptime, and more....I love these moments too! This is what I found as I turned around from cleaning my desktop off! When I asked you what you were doing, you said, "I'm a baby, Mommy!"
The two of us spent the late afternoon running a few mini errands, filling the truck with gas.....and when Daddy made it home, we enjoyed a light dinner at Subway and enjoyed Cumberland Presbyterian's Live Nativity Scene.......
When Daddy was holding you to view the stable, you pointed out Baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph accurately! We're proud of all that you've learned about the Christmas season and it's true meaning! Although when we returned home, you wanted to open more Christmas gifts! Earlier today when you were playing in the playroom, you barricaded yourself behind chairs next to your Christmas tree, you said, "Mommy, I'm hiding from a monster!" When I returned to look at you still hiding, I saw a gift in your hands. I allowed you to open it! Thus, the desire to open more gifts remained! You opened all the gifts from the playroom, kitchen, living room, and your bedroom------as you were nearing the end of opening your Christmas gifts, you said, "Mommy, they're all used up! You have to put more under the tree!" You were sad to see the tree skirts empty but were delighted with all that you received prior to leaving for our trip this week!
Each year, Mommy and Daddy will add something to your Kitchen/Home collection so that when you are ready for your first apartment away from home-----you'll have what you need to create meals for yourself, your friends, & parents! I look forward to watching this collection grow as you grow!
You love, love, love to color and to write........and work on activity books with your markers! We have several new books to complete this month while on vacation and two packs of new markers to create magical drawings------and to help master all the skills you're eager to learn/master! "Mommy, what does this say to do?" You also loved your new Highlights sticker and reading books that you unwrapped! And might I add that you look adorable in your new pajamas from Missy and Steve.......
.......and just when you suggested that your gifts were all used up, Daddy found Princess Girl right outside our door. The two of us were tucked in for bed and he brought her to join us in your bed! She let you pet her before roaming around the house! And just before you fell asleep, she pawed at your rocking chair, twirling it right and left------then curled up in it to go to sleep just as you closed your eyes too!
We love you to the moon and back and as long as there's a breath in us, your gifts will never be all used up! We may only have time, tickles, kisses, hugs, listening ears........to give you but we'll have all that you need!
We love you little one!
