Easter Memories

After our busy day yesterday, I wasn't quite ready to wake up this morning.....
Groggy from our Soggy Saturday together...However, you were bouncing out of bed and so I followed.... I didn't hear Daddy come in late last night but you were delighted to find him sitting on the couch this morning! I guess it was the only egg that was hidden by the Easter bunny this morning------especially since Mommy had even forgotten to sit out your Easter basket last night. After your ear to ear smiles from having found Daddy on the couch this morning, you did enjoy your Easter basket that was filled with new spring Princess sandals, a Barbie thermos, Crayola twistable crayons, Pete the Cat books, mini spatuals for cooking with Mommy, Tupperware bowls for spring snacks in the truck/park, etc.

Easter Sunday continued with morning playtime at home and lunch at Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Lindsey's home where you admired Baby Chandler and enjoyed crafts with Ann Charlotte. You were also delighted to take part in the Easter egg hunt. It was your first hunt this season since you missed your preschool Easter hunt after being sick! It was a fun hunt as you searched for yellow eggs and speckled eggs alike to fill your Easter basket with----the yellow was your assigned color egg to find (since some of them had special treats inside just for you). The speckled and/or orange colored eggs were for anyone! You did quite well filling your basket as you moved around the soggy landscape----luckily, we remembered our rain boots so that are feet were protected from the messy ground!

I was delighted in your behavior too! You were exceptional! You used your manners, shared your belongings, didn't argue with directions, took extra time to help others and more! I was quite impressed! Thank you for being an amazing guest! I look forward to taking you on many outings and expecting this same superb behavior!

When we arrived home, we soaked up the sunshine as Daddy and Mommy enjoyed an afternoon cup of coffee outside! And just when we thought the hunt was over for Easter eggs this season, we were still hunting but not for Easter eggs. We were hunting for kittens! Princess Girl was in the yard with us and followed us all around but she never let up where she hid her newborn kittens----that were either born Friday, Saturday or this morning

When we layed down to read your new Pete the Cat books, you made sure to tell me that your favorite part of the day was "looking for Princess Girl's kittens!" You asked me to tell you everything we did today just as I did last night. And as I did, you listened.....reiterated that looking for the kittens was your favorite part. You asked if we could look again tomorrow. Then you said, "Mommy, I love you!" and fell asleep instantly!

I love you too my precious daughter. You surprise me when I least expect it. Your grace and loving heart surpasses my own understanding. I thank God for His undeserving love, His gift of life, and the gift He has blessed me with on top of those----you!

Happy Easter!
