Daddy's Little Peanut

The morning was a perfect one with coffee ready to brew and simple little note left from Daddy to Mommy---funny that daddy chose an orange crayon & a Bounty paper towel to scribble this message out before rushing out of the house for another busy day at work!

Little notes make the day's blessings more bountiful........

.....especially when each of us are running out the door to busy segments of our day! As Daddy tackled his workload for the day, Mommy dressed you for soccer.........(love the little red nails that were left over from last night's Celebration).......

.....and that little grin as you posed for another clover-soccer snapshot! Aside from clovers this morning, you had your mind set to receiving snack at soccer! You're so geared to routine that you thought it was Mommy's turn again to take snack to your soccer teammates--------and when you saw a teammate with a Kool Aid Jammer, you were ready for yours before the scrimmage ended!

After soccer, we ventured home for lunch and lounge time before enjoying a trip to Jackson for a Sam's Club run and a browse through Target! We ended the trip with a treat from Starbucks-----apple juice for you & a Carmel Macchiato Iced for Mommy! The high temperatures in the eighties were a surprise after cooler temperatures just yesterday! Thus, these cool drinks were just what we needed for our trip back home! You were absolutely a delightful sidekick today while shopping!

Serious Sophia

Silly Sophia
My little serious & silly Sophia (the purple nail polish is also left over from last night's celebration---you had requested a purple moon on your face with red stars around it and fingernails red on one hand and purple on the other)-------and you are surely both----a touch of Mommy & a touch of Daddy! Absolutely-----loveable! I laughed when you asked a young man at Target, "Do you have a baby in your belly?" You are insanely in love with babies-------all things baby! Somehow, we made it home with all three babies that ventured in and out of the stores with us from Dyersburg to Jackson and back to Dyersburg! After a short nap, you were eager to play outside in the yard! When Daddy came home, you couldn't wait......"Daddy, I want to show you something! Daddy, I want to show you something!......." Daddy, got up and ran inside with you as you showed him your new pajamas-------"Daddy's Little Peanut"! And they are size 5T---our last toddler size! You already weigh 36 lbs and you are 40inches tall! And so full of life.........Daddy and I laughed as you took his coffee cup from him this afternoon to finish his coffee...saying, "I sure love my coffee!" with expression!

Daddy's Little Peanut
You ended the night with Daddy at your heals-------with run & chase, spinning in your rocking chair, prayers, and YOU read Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown to him----a perfect end to a special day together!

Mommy's heart is ENORMOUS tonight---------a TON of Joy evoked from one little peanut!

  1. I had to chuckle at your comment about Sophia asking the man "Do you have a baby in your belly?" Keegan has done this with some frequency over the past few months....for obvious reasons...and when they say "no" she says, "but why is your belly big like my Mommy's?" 1. You cringe a little and 2. Try to swallow back your own laughter and 3. Wonder just how to explain to a 4year old what to say and not say to strangers....tricky!
