Never Give Up

There's something magical about you, Sophia Princess Mermaid. In the midst of my day, you do or say something that pulls a smile across my face when I least expect it. Tonight, you were watching Dora the Explorer in your monkey chair while I was folding laundry. As I was putting some kitchen towels away in the kitchen, I took a few minutes to prep a few dinner items for tomorrow's supper. All of sudden, I hear you saying, "NEVER GIVE UP! Never Give Up! Never give up!" Obviously, Dora was teaching you to never give up! I smiled from ear to ear. As your Mommy, I needed to hear those words tonight and most days throughout the week. There's always a crossroad, a challenge of the day, a trial to test my faith------Daddy's perfect about encouraging me to carry on when I fuss to him about these trials. He called tonight and talked with you on the phone. He asked you, "What's Mommy doing?" You answered, "Cleaning!" That, I was.......always something to pick up and return to its spot and a chore to complete that puts tomorrow in perspective but maybe you did that for me tonight as you repeated, "Never give up!" with Dora---loud enough to resonate throughout the house into the kitchen and surround my heart. Tomorrow's promise-----I'll clean less and make more time for messes with you! I'll encourage you. Celebrate YOU on your day off from preschool. I'll enjoy my little princess and fill her day with memories.
