Studio On Main: Legends of Song

Friendship, Tennessee holds so many memories of my early twenties when I had the opportunity to live there and teach first grade for three years but now my Friendship memories are those of you----Mommy's favorite singer! In January 2012, you began taking voice lessons from Mrs. Katie Keel Hicks. Those weekly visits transformed you from clinging to Mommy (with tears) to getting on stage with your group to belt out tunes from the CD's that Mrs. Katie sent us home with to practice! Every ride in the truck enveloped us with your Studio On Main songs--------"Hey Goodlooking what you got cooking..........A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck....splish! Splash I was taking a bath!.......Yakity Yak Don't talk back!.........and many more!" You were introduced to Mr. Maraca as he traveled around the world. You were also super excited to sing in the microphone. The beams of smiles and hugs each week after the session followed by "Mommy, I didn't cry!" melted my heart! We enjoyed mini-bottled Coca-Colas from the local drugstore as rewards. We even met a friend, "Yiadare" who we would periodically stop and feed after music lessons. Now, we've been given the master CD of the songs to practice for your BIG performance and a costume list of apparel you will wear the evening of Saturday, May 26th, 2012. We'll invite all of our friends and family to attend your performance! Daddy & I will be your biggest fans that night when you sing your songs on stage (fingers crossed since you don't often like change and new, unexpected events-----but praying that you'll want to perform and enjoy yourself after 'what to expect' dress rehearsals this month)!
