Today, I pulled out the water table for you, Sophia, to play in while we were lounging outside in Yiayia's & Papou's avle (yard) in Zitsa. After I filled up the water table, you stuck your head in there to blow bubbles (like you learned to do during swimming lessons). I pulled back your hair to see if you were putting your nose in the water too. I asked you if you were and you said, "Yep!" After blowing a few more bubbles, you asked Mommy if she could blow bubbles---"Mommy, can you blow bubbles." After answering, no. You looked and said, "Mommy, I can teach you!" You always manage to bring a smile to my face with the simplest words. Here are a few snapshots of you at swim lessons early this June in Dyersburg, TN:

As I was posting this, I was reminded of our week of swim lessons. You were sick and on antibiotics that week. The first day of lessons, you had to go to the bathroom and didn't make it out of the water in time to get to a place to go. Luckily, Mommy had an extra bathing suit in the truck for you. Daddy was with us during your first lesson. Thus, he was able to assist Mommy a little. The next day, we showed up a little later but you still had to go to the bathroom. I had a plastic bag in the truck that we used as your toilet. Wednesday, you had to go again. And for Thursday, again! Daddy made the last swim meet too and with all our bathroom antics with you, we laughed all the way out of the neighborhood. Your little body was set on a swim schedule routine---------although the medicine and the cold pool water (from the cooler June temperatures) didn't help either! But most importantly, you had a wonderful time and learned to swim like a fish! Not literally but you like to say, "Mommy, I can swim like a fish!" Your little legs at the beach have moved like firecrackers under the water. You're not scared of jumping in so we're one step closer to swimming like a mermaid, my little fish!
