Our morning routine was a little different today-----we had to see Dr. P prior to reporting to school. Mommy was worried about your lymph nodes. They are still swollen but doubly so...HUGE. I didn't want to over react and schedule a visit with the doctor prior to our follow-up visit with Dr. Thompson in Memphis in November but my mommy instinct said to call. Dr. P confirmed today that "yes" she needs to see you when they are THIS swollen. She sent us to lab for a swab test---no strep. Thus, we're to follow up with the scheduled specialist appointment in Memphis next week (as a precautionary) to see what Dr. Thompson's take is on those loony lymph nodes that shorten your breathing and keep mommy on edge. At the doctor's office this morning, you were super!
My favorite moments: When you gave Dr. P a hug and kissed her cheek after taking care of you during your appointment......and I loved, loved, loved your little love notes. I kept them to place in your keepsake box/scrapbook since they were your first love notes. You took three of Dr. P's business cards from her office and you named then as one for Mommy, one for Daddy, and one for Sophia. You then asked for Mommy's ink pen. You wrote out "Sophia Jackson" on one. Then next one captured: Mom Litsa-----and you brought it to me saying it says "Love to Mommy!" On the third business card, you wrote dad before we picked up our belongings to leave with a negative strep test......you kept the card in your car seat until after preschool. Then you carried it with you to a friend's house and curled Daddy's card up like a note/triangle. I shared your love note to Mommy with Daddy this evening and just as he was questioning "what about Daddy?," You were asking Mommy where Daddy's note was......you had him finish writing Rusty on his "Love to Daddy" note. Precious little notes from the one we love best!
If I knew a cheer, I'd stand up and perform it for these first love notes! And for the delight in your voice and face when you've asked Mommy repeatedly if you can "go watch Lilly (from your preschool class) cheer at the field!" I love it!! As I listened to you chanting over and over the cheer that Lilly is going to perform, my heart knew that indeed you've been enjoying yourself at preschool this week. The praises from your teachers are sweet melodies and the eagerness to talk about your school day and friend(s) is perfect too!
This blog, "Our Legacy" is my love note to you, Little Princess!
