Take a Good Look at Me Now

Sometime today you were buzzing about Mommy's & Daddy's bedroom & said, "Take a good look at me now!" I had to laugh out loud again! I never know what will come out of your mouth-----and who knows where this sentence came from today! When I asked you about it, you didn't have a response as to where you had heard it----no connections... But, I wanted you to know that I spent my weekend doing just that....taking a good look at you! Here's a few of my snapshots of you this weekend.........

Painting a mini pumpkin at Heritage Day on the Square
One of your favorite "festival" activities: Face Painting
Butterfly Wings:  I had to laugh when you noticed that the sample picture had blue lips added on the model. You requested blue lips too! My little detail girl........
I loved it when you pointed out this young lady sitting on the bleachers..."Look Mommy a Princess"
Enjoying the first weekend of fall outside----Mommy, Sophia, & Princess Girl (Daddy joined us after work this evening! We sipped coffee on the swing and enjoyed the quiet evening. Daddy told you that it made his day that you went by his job site this morning as he was prepping a roof for reconstruction. You were delighted to join him and his crew on the roof as I held my breath when the two of you climbed the ladder and waved from high above....You even had a war scar on the back of your kneecap. Daddy poked you with his pencil in his back pocket-----you didn't even cry! I noticed the hole in your leggings and leg prior to nap time! You are one versatile, tough little girl!)
Always eager to write, draw, spell: Rhyming words & more outside on the swing!
I overheard you asking Daddy on Saturday to show you how to close one eye and open the other. Here's you trying out the technique on Sunday afternoon! I love this silly girl! You silly, silly goose! I love to watch you on the loose-----carefree autumn days are pure JOY!
.......and another silly pose! I believe those "cheerleader" arms are supposed to be a little straighter but here's you copying what you've seen your friend Lily do at preschool! I think we're due for an after school field trip to watch those Little Cheerleaders practice!
Fun-tastic afternoon at the city park----you quickly figured out that you were wearing long sleeves and could opt to ZIP down the long, metal bars---and you did time and time again amazing even some of the older students enjoying their afternoon at the park!

I'm taking a good look at you now because today's a gift that I couldn't have imagined without having lived it with you. I'm honored to be your mother-------to love you, to teach you, to watch you grow!

May our first week of autumn envelope us in colorful blessings as we give THANKS for these bestowed upon us this weekend, fall's first promises!
