Old Lady

It was just this week that we were all sitting at the kitchen table---Daddy, Mommy, & you! I don't remember if we were eating, playing or writing but I remember a smile coming across your face as you were speaking to me------and the fact that you called me, "Old Lady!" Out of nowhere......my mouth dropped open and I smiled repeating the phrase, Old Lady! Hmm.......you quickly said, "I'm just kidding with you Mommy!" Daddy laughed------fueling your fun side! You have a special charm about you. You're full of wit! We encourage you to have fun----to laugh and enjoy life and others around you! What a beautiful week it has been answering your questions, watching you dress yourself with little help for preschool in the morning, indulging in your giggles, hugs and more! I'm blessed to be the old lady that has the opportunity to be called your Mom! I saw this chalkboard tonight on Facebook on Nuby's page and thought it was worth inserting! I can attest that you, my four year old does indeed ask at least 437 questions a day! I can't say I always respond with encouragement but I can say if I don't you have my permission to call me Old Lady! There's no greater gift than to watch you grow, to nurture your curiosity & to respond with love!

The dishes, the workload, the text messages, the dryer, and all can wait as I answer questions and as we spread out gingerbread friends on the kitchen table and add eyes, mouths, and noses to them........run, run as fast as you can!
