A barking cough woke us this morning------your dry, spring cough! Just when we think we have these allergies under control, they come creeping back on us. We started the morning with breakfast and a breathing treatment prior to your last day of preschool. Although you didn't feel 100%, you didn't complain about having to attend preschool. It was your last day of four year old preschool and since we're going to attend preschool one more year before Kindergarten, Mommy opted to let you skip the last two weeks of preschool in May. I personally didn't want you to have to go through preschool graduation since we'd partake in all of those special festivities next year. Thus, we ended the 2012-2013 school year today! As a special treat, Mommy came in and read three of your favorite Pete the Cat books to you and your classmates (although you helped read most of them aloud, alongside me)! And then, since you and your classmates were superb listeners to all three books.....Mommy promised Popsicles with Mrs. Tracy's permission. She said yes. Thus, we all enjoyed ice cold Popsicles outside together! It was the a perfect preschool end as the day's heat promised many spectacular summer moments to come!
To celebrate at home, I opted to let Princess Girl come inside this afternoon! I thought for sure, she'd take us up on a nap in the master bedroom but she hissed at you when you tried to coax her into the room with us. After you fell asleep, I looked to see just where she was! She was enjoying her own master couch, lounging in a long stretched out lazy pose! Indeed, summer is around the bend for us all.
I pray that you'll soon fight off this round of allergies this week as a fabulous end to spring winds its way through the month of May........and brings about a bright beginning to summer that will envelope us and shower us with magical happily ever afters!
As we planted your very first strawberry plant this evening, I was reminded of how much you'll learn and grow each day with all that we choose to fill our lives with throughout these two seasons...lead the way, my wonderful child!
I love you little school girl and I'm proud of everything you've accomplished this school year!
