The month of May is quickly disappearing. With only six days left in May, I'm reminded of the treasures the season has greeted us with and I wanted to capture a few before their precise moments of joy evaded my memory!
Today, we spent the morning at Studio On Main in Friendship, Tennessee preparing for your third Voice show! Then, we met up with Mrs. Dee and Drue and filled the afternoon with a perfect day of lunch with our friends-----and shopping adventures amidst a plethora of conversation ! It was wonderful to remove ourselves from our daily routine at home---although we've spent many hours outdoors together this month----with 2 to 3 trips to the park a day! As we were shopping, you picked up little plastic tags from clothing and played with them....a chain (dangling it and saying that Princess Girl would like it because it was just the right length for her to paw at), a penny, buttons, and more. A few of these items ended up in my jean pocket and traveled back home with us. Just before you fell asleep, you asked: "Mommy, where are my treasures?" I reassured you that they were in my jean pocket and you fell asleep.
You find so much joy in finding treasures everywhere you go---odd items (mostly small, tiny items that end up all over the truck, in our house, on the counters, etc.). I have to toss most of them if not all because they are everywhere (and I prefer order rather than chaos of items). However, tonight after the perfect day away from home, I thought about you asking about your treasures and I wondered how to save them (or some of them) for you....I'm thinking! Of course, I'll photograph a few.......but the rest?? It's on odd array of items from glass to buttons to coins and more...I'm not sure what pleasure you derive from these little trinkets but you definitely enjoy searching for them everywhere we go. Your little eyes are always pierced--seeking for anything to gather!
Although these treasures you gather drive Mommy insane at times, I was reminded today that our memories together wouldn't be filled with joyful colors of acceptance and love if we didn't have them. There's an old cliche that says, "One man's trash is another one's treasure!" Thus, who am I to judge what catches your eye. I may not understand your desire to collect items from each one of our paths and from each of our days together but a small still voice tonight reminded me to accept, to love, to embrace these treasures!
Here are a few treasures that Mommy loves---and a few that you love too (sometimes what the two of us treasure and love overlaps):
I love you little one; you are my treasure!

Here are a few treasures that Mommy loves---and a few that you love too (sometimes what the two of us treasure and love overlaps):
Naps for beauty sleep---& your ZEST for life! Also known as Mommy's coffee-time as I recharge to keep up with you when you wake-up and are ready to PLAY!
Another birthday celebration with friends and family----always a treasure!
A May Day wreath with Yiayia---a tad late in the month but nonetheless a picture opportunity! Even though the flowers were too large for the wreath's creations!
Dress-up Delights
Baby Loving
A heart we spotted in Mrs. Polly's ivy from inside our home while sitting on the couch one evening....we called our neighbor to share what we had spied! We love to play "I Spy" together!
Our home where treasures are found and held captive!
Your first strawberry plant! The squirrels devour the berries!
Your Favorite Past-Time Treasures: Popsicles. Dolls. Swings. Outdoors.
I love you little one; you are my treasure!
