Preschool Ends & Summer School Begins

April 30th brought about the last week of preschool for you---recapping a few memories as I came across these pictures today! Mommy helped you celebrate by visiting your preschool classroom for a round of reading adventures with your Pete the Cat books. Your classmates were just as excited to meet Pete the Cat as you were to share him with them. All of you were the perfect audience so another treat was promised---popsicles! Mommy drove to Kroger to buy a BIG box of icy, colorful Popsicles for you and your classmates to enjoy. Mrs. Tracy, Mrs. Wanda, your classmates and-----the two of us all enjoyed the popsicles outside prior to us saying our final good-byes for the 2012-2013 school year. It was the perfect warm weather treat to enjoy as we wished everyone a wonderful summer.

Most of your classmates were already five. Thus, many of them are moving on into Kindergarten next year! However with you just turning five in June, Daddy and I decided that we’d give you one more year to enjoy being YOU. One more year of childhood before the formal school years begin. Thus, we’ve pre-enrolled you for another year at First United Methodist Preschool for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year-----along with Mommy’s pre-kindergarten curriculum for you at home!  I love it when the two of us sit down to work on skills together. You always ask, “Mommy, are you the teacher?”

We're already enjoying endless lessons in your journal this summer and it's becoming the perfect keepsake too! I'm glad that its one of the activities you enjoy doing with Mommy! I look forward to our journaling activities....I must make a list of questions you ask me! "Mommy is it morning time at our house?" You are interested in knowing what's going on at home (in Dyersburg) while we are in Greece.

Yesterday (while we were in Zitsa, Greece at Yiayia & Papou's house) we were playing with your stickers that Mrs. Polly, our neighbor, gave you to enjoy this summer. You told Mommy to pick one sticker. When I reached for one, you stopped me and said, "Pick one that is acceptable!" I loved that! You are mimicking vocabulary that Mommy uses with you when I say, "That is not acceptable behavior!"

I love you little school girl-----and all that you are continuing to learn!
